Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar etkinlikte yaptığı konuşmada, federasyon başkanı Eyüp Zafer Gökbilen’i tebrik etti, Azerbaycan’dan gelen misafirlere “hoş geldiniz” dedi.

Federasyonun 47 yıldır faaliyette olduğuna ve gençlere sahip çıktığına dikkat çeken Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, ülke sporcuları ile uluslararası sporculara müsabaka yapma imkanı sağlandığını ve KKTC bayrağının dalgalandığını vurguladı.

Sporun, dostluk ve kardeşlik olduğunu aynı zamanda çalışma ve disiplin gerektirdiğini dile getiren Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, Kıbrıs Rum tarafının spora siyaset karıştırdığını ve sporcuların uluslararası müsabakalara katılmalarını engellemek için girişimler yaptığını kaydetti.

Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nin Türk Dünyasının ayrılmaz ve kopmaz bir parçası olduğunu anlatan Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, Azerbaycanlı ve KKTC’li gençlerin sporda bir araya gelmesinin önemli olduğunu ifade etti.

Azerbaycan Cumhurbaşkanı İlham Aliyev’in daveti üzerine önümüzdeki günlerde Azerbaycan’a gideceğini dile getiren Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, karşılıklı ziyaretlerle iki devlet arasındaki bağların daha da güçleneceğini sözlerine ekledi.

KKTC Taekwondo Judo Karate Akido Hapkido Kungfu Kurash Wushu Federasyonu Başkanı Eyüp Zafer Gökbilen ile mayıs ayında Azerbaycan’ın Bakü şehrinde gerçekleştirilen Dünya BUDO Şampiyonasına katılarak takım halinde şampiyon, bireyselde 1 altın, 2 gümüş, 1 bronz madalya kazanan sporcuları ve teknik heyeti kabul etti.

 

 

 

 

Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar kabulde yaptığı konuşmada, gençlerin uluslarası şampiyonalara katılımının ve başarılı olarak derece almasının önemine dikkat çekti.

Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, gençleri tebrik ederek başarılar diledi.

Azerbaycan’da KKTC kafilesine gösterilen ilgiden dolayı memnun olduğunu ifade eden Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, Türk Devletler Teşkilatı’na gözlemci üye olunduktan sonra KKTC’ye olan ilginin daha da arttığını vurguladı.

 

 

 

 

Sporda siyaset olmaması gerektiğine işaret eden Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, Kıbrıslı Türklerin sporda Rum-Yunan ikilisinin engellemelerine maruz kaldığını anlattı.

Uygulanan haksız ambargolara karşı mücadeleye devam edildiğini aktaran Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, verilen mücadelenin sonucunda olumlu gelişmeler olduğunu birçok spor dalında daha görünür olunduğunu ve uluslarası yarışmalarda yer alındığını kaydetti.

The 2023 Karate 1-Premier League Cairo celebrated its second day of the competition on Saturday with Karate Stars taking the spotlight.

FINAL TO DECIDE GOLD MEDALLIST AND GRAND WINNER AWARD

The title-deciding bout of Male Kumite +84kg will decide the title holder and the winner of the Grand Winner award. Both Mahmoud Taha Tarek of Egypt and Babacar Seck Sakho of Spain will be declared the new Best of the Best of the category if they get to win gold in Cairo.

Mahmoud Taha Tarek took the flag of the host nation to the top of the podium after upsetting Asiman Gurbanli of Azerbaijan 8-5 while the Spaniard beat Fatih Sen of Turkiye 5-0.

GRAND WINNER DAMIAN QUINTERO STARS IN MALE KATA

Celebrating a much-awaited return to the international scene, Grand Winner Damian Quintero of Spain went back to winning ways and qualified for the final of Male Kata. The current World Championships runner-up defeated Enes Ozdemir of Turkiye in the semi-finals (scores of 44.50 to 44.10).

After taking gold in Cairo two years ago, Gakuji Tozaki of the United States hopes to claim back-to-back victories in the capital of Egypt. The two-time continental championships runner-up beat Aoi Funada of Japan in a tight semi-final (43.30 both).

 

NEW NAMES TAKE STAGE IN MALE KUMITE -84KG

The final of Male Kumite -84kg will have Matteo Fiore of Italy clashing for gold against Valerii Chobotar of Ukraine. The Italian karateka makes it to his first final of Karate 1-Premier League after beating Aykhan Mamayev of Azerbaijan in the semi-finals (4-1).

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian representative hopes to win his second title of the event following a 2-0 triumph over Michele Martina of Italy.

ONE MORE FINAL FOR EGYPT

After the successful performance of the local delegation on Friday, the host nation celebrated one more spot in the finals. Noursin Aly reached the last bout of Female Kumite -61kg following a 6-4 victory over Nina Radjenovic of Switzerland.

Her rival in the final is Oleksandra Sholohova of Ukraine who made it to her first final of Karate 1-Premier League after beating Reem Khamis of Germany 3-0.

 

CLASH OF TITANS IN FEMALE KUMITE -68KG

The final of Female Kumite -68kg will see two of the most experienced karatekas of the category head-to-head. Olympian Silvia Semeraro of Italy hopes to reach the top of the podium after causing one of the big upsets of the tournament as she defeated Olympic Games champion and local star Feryal Abdelaziz 3-1.

On the other side of the tatami awaits Elena Quirici of Switzerland. The four-time winner of Karate 1-Premier League beat Irina Zaretska of Azerbaijan in the semi-finals 2-0. Despite losing in the semi-finals, Zaretska has earned the Grand Winner crown in the category.

OLYMPIANS FIGHT FOR GOLD IN FEMALE KUMITE +68KG

Two Olympians will meet in the final of Female Kumite +68kg. Ayumi Uekusa of Japan returns to the title-deciding bout of Karate 1-Premier League after edging Hira Nur Kasatura of Turkiye by “Hantei” or decision (0-0).

Olympic Games medallist Sofya Berultseva of Kazakhstan made it to the final following a 6-1 victory over World champion Maria Torres of Spain.

Karate 1 Series A Athens underway

The first event of the season started Friday in Athens (Greece). The Karate 1-Series A Athens opens the thrilling year of international Karate competitions.

The opening tournament of the year saw over 1110 athletes from 74 countries registered, a testament to the popularity of karate all over the world.

The tournament started Friday with the first categories at stake. The opening day will have the categories of Female Kata, Male Kumite -84kg, Female Kumite +68kg, Female Kumite -68kg, Male Kumite -84kg, and Male Kumite -75kg taking the stage.

On Saturday, the athletes from the rest of the categories will clash for a spot in the finals. The title-deciding bouts are scheduled for Sunday.

Fourth stage of Refereeing Unification project held in Tashkent
The WKF Refereeing Unification project reached its fourth stage in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). On the occasion of the 2022 AKF Karate Championships, the WKF’s working group in charge of the Judging Standardisation project travelled to Tashkent to develop the programme among the WKF referees in Asia.

Headed by WKF Referee Commission chairman Javier Escalante and with project leaders Fariba Madani (WKF Referee Commission Secretary) and Natalia Dajcman (WKF Referee Commission Assistant Secretary) in attendance, the working group aims at unifying all the refereeing procedures of the WKF competitions, from the registration of judges and referee course to the application of rules during the competition.

The project was initiated in May in Gaziantep (Türkiye) during the 2022 EKF Senior Championships. The second stage took place in Mexico where the 2022 PKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships were held and continued in Durban (South Africa) for the 2022 UFAK Championships.

WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“The Refereeing Unification project is one of the most ambitious initiatives implemented by the WKF this year. We hope to achieve a complete standardisation of the judging procedures which will instantly raise the bar of our events even more.

“I want to thank WKF Referee Commission chairman Javier Escalante and his team for the outstanding effort and the successful implementation of the project in major WKF events throughout the year.”

Anticipated AKF Karate Championships to start in Uzbekistan
The city of Tashkent (Uzbekistan) hosts the 2022 AKF Senior, Cadet, Junior, U21 & Para-Karate Karate Championships. The new kings and queens of Asian Karate will be crowned at the event to be held from December 16 to 20.

One of the most anticipated events of the season, the AKF Championships gather the best Karate athletes in the continent. Here is all you need to know about the tournament.

WHAT

The 2022 AKF Karate Championships are the biggest Karate event in the continent. The new Asian champions will be crowned at the event.
The event reaches its 18th edition in the Senior categories, the 20th edition in Cadet, Junior, and U21, and the 1st edition in Para-Karate.
It will be the first time that an Asian Para-Karate Championships will be held.
WHERE

The event will take place in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in the Sports Complex “Uzbekistan”.
A major powerhouse nation of the sport in the continent, Uzbekistan have hosted first-class Karate events over the years, including the Asian Championships in 2019.
The previous edition of the event was held last year in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
WHEN

The tournament is scheduled for December 16 to 20.
The first day of the competition (December 16) will have Cadet Kata and Kumite and Junior Kata categories taking the stage.
U21, Junior Kumite, and Para-Karate divisions will be held on Day 2 (December 17). The opening ceremony will also be held on Saturday.
The anticipated Senior individual competition starts on Day 3 (December 18) with the preliminary rounds.
Teams will take the stage on Day 4 (December 19) together with Senior individual and Team Kumite Bronze medal matches.
The finals of the Senior Individual and Team Kata competitions will be held on Day 5 (December 20).

WHO

Over 700 athletes from 28 countries have registered to participate in the event.
Iran present the largest delegation with 62 athletes, followed by Japan with 61 and Kazakhstan with 60 competitors.
The powerhouse nation of Iran topped the podium of the 2021 edition of the event with 39 medals including 14 golds. Kazakhstan and Japan also registered deserving performances with 32 and 10 medals respectively.
The list of defending champions participating at the event is headed by World Championships runner-up Hikaru Ono of Japan in Female Kata, Thi My Tam Hoang of Vietnam in Female Kumite -55kg, Sarah Alameri of UAE in Female Kumite -61kg, Kayo Someya of Japan in Female Kumite -68kg, Abdallah Hammad of Jordan in Male Kumite -60kg, and Grand Winner Zabiollah Poorshab of Iran in Male Kumite -84kg
HOW

The competition follows a knockout format.
The event comprises 61 categories including Senior, Cadet, Junior, U21 and Para-Karate divisions.
